Overview
Therapist Specialist (Wheelchair and Seating) – Band 6. Part time – Fixed Term/ Secondment. Salary Scale: £41,608 - £50,702 per annum/pro rata. An experienced therapist (occupational or physio) is sought to join the multi-disciplinary assistive technology team based within the TORT Centre at Ninewells Hospital. This is a fixed term appointment to May 2026.
Location: Ninewells Hospital, Tayside. Hours: 16.4 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Assess patients and provide a wheelchair suitable for their needs.
* Review and advise on seating solutions in conjunction with the patient, carers and other healthcare specialists.
* Hold a full clinical caseload and carry out appointments in Ninewells as in-patients on wards and as out-patients in scheduled clinics and in specialist schools, care homes, and in patients’ homes.
* Work within multi-disciplinary teams, liaising with specialist rehabilitation engineers as required.
* Demonstrate high standards of patient care and healthcare practices; be aware of practical Health and Safety and operate within Quality Management Systems.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experienced therapist (occupational or physiotherapy) with recent practice in NHS or private healthcare.
* Experience in assistive technology or postural specialisation is an advantage; training will be provided for appropriate candidates.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new skills; ability to work closely with patients and carers and understand complex needs.
* Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and liaise with specialist rehabilitation engineers.
* Essential to demonstrate competency through qualifications and formal interview.
