Job Overview

8a Clinical Psychologist, 37.5 hrs (part-time considered), permanent.

We are advertising for a full or part time 8a Clinical psychologist to take a lead role in the provision of a high quality, specialist psychology service within an adolescent inpatient setting.

The post holder will be an experienced psychologist with extensive knowledge and expertise in working with young people and their families who will join our strong multi-disciplinary team at The Beacon CAMHS general adolescent unit. The Beacon is a 15-bedded purpose-built facility for young people (13-18) with complex needs who require intensive therapeutic and risk support. The team at the Beacon is made up of a diverse MDT including: Speech and Language Therapy, Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Family Therapy, and on site Education colleagues.

Psychological input is highly valued within the service and there is scope for flexibility within the role to suit the successful applicants areas of strength and passion. The post holder will work alongside the specialist MDT to support least restrictive, trauma informed treatment, lead and develop team formulation meetings and contribute to the support of the staff team, via supervision and reflective practice.

As a CAMHS service we are striving to continually improve our service and we have recently launched a core trauma-informed pathway of care.

Leicester also has a 'tier 3.5' service (the CAMHS Intensive Community Support Team) that works closely with the inpatient unit to offer admission avoidance and facilitated discharge work to reduce the number of unhelpful inpatient admissions. The successful candidate will be closely supported by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist working within the CAMHS Intensive Community Support Team and 8B Clinical Psychologist working within the CAMHS Crisis Team who make up the qualified psychology input across the acute pathway.

We are advertising for a Clinical Psychologist to join our large team of Psychologists working across CAMHS. Our CAMH service is a large multi-disciplinary service of over 180 professional staff. Our CAMHS service is comprehensive and in addition to the City and County Outpatient teams has specialist teams for inpatient adolescent services, learning disabilities, primary mental health services, children and young people with eating disorders, crisis services, intensive community support services for those at risk of admission, looked after and adopted children, young offenders and homeless children and paediatric psychology.

There is ongoing work across CAMHS and the wider Trust to embed anti-racist culture across our services to ensure that our services are accessible, effective and safe places for the diverse communities we serve within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). CAMHS has a Race Equity Group that works hard to address systemic inequalities and make CAMHS more culturally responsive. We also have a senior role focused on community participation and health inequalities that is focused on building more meaningful links with members of the communities we serve, and engage in meaningful co-production work to improve mental health support across LLR. The Trust also has a 'Together Against Racism' strategy, working with partner agencies to embed anti-racist practice across the organisation.

We are especially keen to hear from candidates who reflects the diverse communities we serve.
