Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with Barnardo’s, recruitingpassionate and skilled Wellbeing Practitioners to support children and young people across schools in Surrey. This is a meaningful opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading children’s charities and make a lasting impact on pupils’ emotional wellbeing and mental health.
As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will deliver targeted interventions and support programmes designed to promote resilience, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. You’ll work closely with school staff, families, and external agencies to ensure children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
•Deliver one-to-one and group wellbeing sessions tailored to individual needs
•Support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges
•Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress
•Promote whole-school wellbeing initiatives and safeguarding practices
•Build trusting relationships with children and families
Candidate Requirements:
•Relevant qualification or experience in education, counselling, psychology, or youth work
•Strong interpersonal andmunication skills
•Experience supporting children or young people in educational or care settings
•Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
•Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between nearby school locations across Surrey
•Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multi-agency framework

•Professional references covering the last two years
