Overview
CNC Operator (Sliding Head) – Location: Redditch. Shift: Afternoons 5 shifts either 12.00 or 14.00 start with 20.00 or 22.00. Salary: £28,392. Precision Engineering Industry. Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a well-established business within the precision engineering industry for an experienced CNC Operator to join their team on the afternoon shift. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled operator with sliding head experience and a strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls to become part of a growing, forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operating CNC sliding head machines on the afternoon shift
* Working confidently with Fanuc control systems
* Performing routine offset and insert changes to maintain setup accuracy
* Loading material and carrying out regular quality checks using standard gauges
* Supporting basic setups, with the advantage of being able to set independently
Beneficial experience
* Changing milling cutters, drills, and taps
* Using shadowgraph and non-digital bore mics
* Using micrometres, verniers, and other manual measuring tools for ongoing inspection
Key Machinery Experience
* Hanwha
* Star
* Tornos
* Citizen
All machines are equipped with milling capability, so familiarity with live tooling and multi-axis operations is highly desirable.
Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience operating CNC sliding head lathes
* Strong working knowledge of Fanuc control systems
* High attention to detail and focus on quality
* Comfortable with manual inspection techniques and tool changes
* Able to work independently and maintain consistent output on an afternoon shift
