A high-achieving secondary school in Swindon is seeking a meticulous and resilient Exams & Data Officer to join its administrative leadership team as soon as possible. This is a mission-critical role responsible for the seamless administration of all internal and external examinations, ensuring total compliance with JCQ regulations and maintaining the integrity of the school’s academic data. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in high-pressure environments. You will be the central pivot for the school during the examination seasons, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the SENCo to ensure every student is provided with a fair and compliant environment to achieve their best results. Key Responsibilities Examination Lifecycle: Managing the end-to-end administration of all GCSE, A-Level, and vocational examinations, including entries, secure paper storage, and result downloads. Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinating with various awarding bodies via secure platforms and acting as the primary point of contact for the JCQ, ensuring absolute adherence to statutory regulations. Team Leadership: Recruiting, training, and managing a reliable team of external Exam Invigilators, including the coordination of their schedules and conduct. Logistics & Planning: Overseeing the logistical setup of exam halls, including complex seating plans, clash supervision, and the implementation of Access Arrangements for students with additional needs. Data Analysis: Analysing post-results data and producing high-level performance reports for the Headteacher and Governors to support school improvement strategies. Student Support: Serving as the primary point of contact for students and parents regarding exam queries, timetables, and post-results services such as reviews of marking and appeals. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in exam administration or as a Senior School Data Officer is essential. Thorough knowledge of JCQ regulations and a proven track record of maintaining exam integrity. Proficiency in school MIS systems ( Arbor or SIMS ) and advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting. Exceptional project management skills and the ability to maintain a calm, methodical approach under intense seasonal pressure. A "right-first-time" attitude toward data entry and administrative compliance.
