Are you a passionate music educator eager to inspire students and help them discover their creative potential? We are seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to become a key part of a dynamic and inclusive secondary school community in Watford from September 2026.
This role goes beyond teaching – it’s about nurturing a love for music and encouraging students to explore, create, and express themselves from the very start of the academic year. You’ll join a vibrant music department with talented students and supportive colleagues who share your enthusiasm for the arts.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Lead extracurricular musical groups, including choirs, bands, and performance ensembles
* Guide students in exploring instruments, music technology, and a range of genres
* Prepare students for assessments, performances, and formal examinations
* Track student progress and tailor support to meet diverse learning needs
* Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into wider school activities and events
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred, but not essential)
* Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting
* Proficiency in at least one instrument or strong vocal ability
* A genuine passion for music and the ability to inspire young learners
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* A team player who thrives in a creative and supportive environment
