Senior Nursing Assistant
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is looking for compassionate and caring Senior Nursing Assistants with NVQ Level 3 health and social care certificate or diploma. Join our integrated Community Nursing Team in South Manchester.
Key Responsibilities
* Communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team.
* Travel to patients’ homes across South Manchester, ensuring reliable and timely service.
* Assist patients with personal care needs, including wound care, skin care and palliative care.
* Record patient observations and changes to clinical conditions.
* Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and within Trust guidelines and protocols.
* Support consistent, high‑quality, patient‑focused care throughout the service hours (7 days a week, 8:00 am–10:00 pm, including bank holidays).
Essential Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (certificate or diploma).
* Valid car ownership or usage (essential for travel).
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Previous community nursing experience preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in community nursing or similar setting.
* Knowledge of wound, skin and palliative care practices.
Training & Progression
* On‑the‑job training and assessment covering delegated duties.
* Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants, leading to a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role upon completion.
* Skills analysis for experienced assistants with support to address any gaps, facilitating progression to Band 3.
* Evidence of prior learning will be reviewed and considered.
Working Patterns & Benefits
* 2 full‑time positions over 5 days and 1 part‑time position of 22.5 hours over 3 days, including weekends and late shifts.
* Shift patterns vary; work hours 8:00 am–10:00 pm inclusive of bank holidays.
