Residential Support Assistant Full Time | Specialist Education & Care Setting We are currently recruiting Residential Support Assistants to join a specialist education and care provision supporting boys aged 8-19 with a range of additional needs, including: Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you will play a vital part in helping young people feel safe, supported and empowered to develop life skills, independence and emotional resilience. The Role As a Residential Support Assistant, you will work within a nurturing residential environment, supporting young people outside of the classroom as part of a wider education and care team. You will help create structure, routine and positive relationships that allow pupils to thrive. Key responsibilities include: Supporting young people with their daily routines, personal development and emotional wellbeing Building strong, consistent and trusting relationships Promoting positive behaviour, independence and social skills Working collaboratively with education, therapy and care staff Helping to maintain a safe, calm and supportive residential setting You will be required to work outside of typical school hours, Monday to Friday. For example: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 2.30pm - 10.30pm, Tuesday 1.00pm to 09.30pm & Friday 9.30am to 3.00pm. About You We are looking for individuals who are patient, resilient, compassionate and committed to making a real difference in young people's lives. Ideally, you will have: A QCF (NVQ) Level 3 or above in Residential Care (or an equivalent qualification) However, this is not essential. Candidates without the qualification will be fully supported to achieve it if they demonstrate the right attitude, values and transferable experience. Experience working with SEN children or adults is highly desirable, but not essential.
