Department: Software Solutions Location: Oxford, UK Description Origin helps investors, utilities, governments, and regulators to navigate uncertainty of complex power markets with scenarios and sensitivities, guiding investment strategy or evaluating policies. We are looking for a highly analytical and execution-driven Associate Product Manager to support the development and expansion of Origin - Aurora’s global power market modelling platform. As a Product Execution Associate, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality product features and improvements, ensuring smooth coordination between cross-functional teams, and helping scale Origin across diverse geographies and use cases. You will work closely with Product Managers to execute the roadmap and drive initiatives that align with user needs and market trends. This role is fast-paced and detailed-oriented, requiring strong problem-solving skills, organisational abilities, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate is someone who can execute efficiently, apply feedback holistically, and drive deliverables forward while collaborating effectively across teams. Key Responsibilities Support the execution of Origin’s platform development roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader product strategy and business goals Manage and maintain the product backlog of user needs and feature requests, ensuring that development priorities are clear and structured Translate market insights and stakeholder needs into structured technical requirements, collaborating with modellers, software engineers, and analysts to bring them to execution Liase with regional and technical experts to understand the user needs of Aurora’s global power market modelling community (internal and external) Abstract from individual, or market-specific context to define generalised concepts and solutions that can be applied across our global product portfolio Take ownership of defined workstreams and support their development from planning through delivery, ensuring that execution is timely and meets quality standards Drive clarity in project execution, ensuring that technical teams and business stakeholders are aligned on key objectives Track development progress, identify blockers, and ensure smooth feature rollouts. Proactively document best practices and contribute to process improvements that enhance team efficiency Adapt quickly to changing priorities, ensuring that work remains aligned with business needs and team objectives What we are looking for Required attributes: 1-3 years of experience in an analytical, software, or product-related role, ideally in energy, finance, consulting, or research Quick, self-directed learner with the ability to ramp up quickly in complex domains Strong problem-solving mindset, capable of identifying key patterns in data and applying insights to product execution Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional workstreams, ensuring clear alignment between business needs and technical execution Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and track deliverables effectively Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders Desirable attributes: Experience in product management or working with software development teams Familiarity with power market economics, renewables, or storage investments Competence in data analysis tools (Python, R, Matlab, or similar) is a plus Exposure to agile development methodologies and user research practices What we offer Some of the benefits we include are: Private Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Parental Support Salary-Exchange Pension Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Local Oxford Discounts Cycle-to-work Scheme Flu Jabs At AER, we are committed to offering flexibility in the way we work.
