Job Summary
Our brand new nursery in the heart of Central Gosforth are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall management of our establishment, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for early childhood education.
Duties
* Assist the Manager in the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
* Provide effective leadership to staff, fostering a positive team environment that promotes professional development.
* Engage with children, facilitating activities that support their learning and development in line with early years frameworks.
* Maintain high standards of care and education, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns.
* Oversee the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that cater to the diverse needs of children.
* Assist in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-quality workforce.
* Manage administrative tasks related to nursery operations, including record keeping and compliance documentation.
* Managing the nursery in the manager's absence.
Experience
* An approved Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
* Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting is essential.
* Background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications is highly desirable.
* Experience working with children in various capacities, such as childcare or nursery settings.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with staff, parents, and children.
* Experience in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and health and safety protocols.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding children
