Shields (Driffield) Ltd, are looking for a talented and proactive Design Engineer to join their growing team—working on real-world projects from concept through to manufacture and installation. This is a hands-on role where your designs won’t just sit on a screen—you’ll play a key part in delivering practical engineering solutions across a variety of projects. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be at the heart of the design process, collaborating across teams and supporting projects end-to-end: CAD & Design * Producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed drawings (SolidWorks) * Creating assemblies, DXF files, and flat patterns for manufacturing and CNC processes * Interpreting technical specifications from clients, suppliers, and internal teams Project & Technical Support * Supporting Project Managers and Engineers with design input * Assisting with design reviews, quality checks, and technical documentation * Contributing to risk identification and compliance with CDM 2015 regulations Collaboration & Site Work * Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams * Supporting site surveys across the UK when required * Helping ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification Wider Responsibilities ...
