Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking an Electrical/Avionics Fitter/Technician to join their team on a contract basis in Crawley. This position involves working with advanced flight simulators designed to support pilot training and simulation for airlines worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and avionics systems in flight simulators
* Ensuring the correct functionality of complex avionics equipment and systems
* Collaborating with design engineers to integrate avionics systems into simulator platforms
* Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and avionics components
* Following technical manuals and schematics to precisely construct and repair simulator systems
* Ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards
* Assisting in the testing and calibration of simulator instruments and controls
* Providing technical support and guidance to other team members as needed
Job Requirements
* Experience as an Electrical Fitter or Avionics Technician in the aerospace or defence sectors
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics
* Understanding of advanced avionics and electrical systems utilised in flight simulators
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong commitment to safety and compliance protocols
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Relevant qualifications in electrical or avionics engineering
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Contract Details
This role is a contract position with an initial duration of 6 months, inside IR35. The client is flexible on rates and seeks a candidate who can start promptly to work on-site in Crawley.
