Oxleas NHS trust was awarded the South West Prison contract in 2022 and currently manages a portfolio of 19 prisons across the South of England. We are looking to expand our pool of bank workers by recruiting Senior Nurses to work within the prison service on a flexible basis.
As a Senior Nurse you will provide high quality primary care services and a range of specialist interventions for offenders. You will deliver a nurse‑led integrated primary care service and operate a specialist practice‑based clinical model of care. Your responsibilities include:
* Providing primary care, emergency response and first‑night care in custody/new registration services.
* Maintaining an effective case‑management service to ensure continuity of treatment throughout the patient care pathway whilst detained.
* Delivering clinics and consultations in a clinically effective and timely way and implementing strategies designed to promote and improve health and prevent disease whilst in prison.
To work as a bank‑only worker you will need to have completed preceptorship training or obtained six months post‑qualification experience.
