Job Summary
GKN is engaged in major development programmes aiming for zero emission flight using Liquid Hydrogen, Fuel cells, and Cryogenics. We have a team of over 70 specialists working on hydrogen propulsion systems and are seeking engineers and scientists to join us in this innovative environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead a multidisciplinary team in a matrix organization with uncertain requirements
* Define and deliver programme milestones related to hydrogen fuel feed systems
* Develop system requirements through design to validated products, including safety and compliance
* Supervise engineering team members, lead reviews, and peer reviews
* Support technology strategy and competitor analysis
* Guide and coach team members to grow research capabilities
* Maintain relationships with customers and academic partners
* Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to processes
* Organize technical and project reviews
How You'll Contribute
Bring your passion and skills, including:
* Degree in Engineering or Physics with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials
* Experience in research project management and product lifecycle for cryogenic equipment
* Design review experience and knowledge of standards and certification
* Higher degree and professional accreditation (e.g., CEng) preferred
* Understanding of cryogenic, hydrogen, or vacuum systems advantageous
You should have excellent communication skills, be energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
