Role responsibilities
The Risk Analyst will support a number of Transport for Wales project, operational and functional teams capture, challenge, analyse, quantify and monitor project, service and strategic risks to actively manage threats and issues, and maximise opportunities to support delivery of Transport for Wales Corporate Strategy, Vision, Mission, Purpose and Values.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
1. Organise the risk data set by reviewing quality of information supplied by risk owners to ensure it meets sufficient quality and provides effective risk management.
2. Produce clear and concise management reports for project teams, functional leads, TfW Executive Leadership Team, TfW Board and potentially Welsh Government Ministers by monitoring, collating, evaluating and summarising the risk reporting systems, to support investment decisions, and project or service delivery.
3. Proactively manage threats and issues, and exploit opportunities by highlighting, capturing, analysing and reporting the risks and updating risk dashboards to ensure all potential risks are mitigated for projects and operations across TfW.
4. Conduct frequent risk reviews by working with risk owners to support horizon scanning, risk generation, risk assessment, risk mitigation, risk updates, risk prioritisation and escalation to understand the level of uncertainty to produce Quantified Risk Assessments (QRAs) for schedule and cost to inform the Project Teams on the level of contingency needed for projects.
Who we’re looking for
5. A degree in mathematics, engineering, project management or similar.
6. Hold or working towards a relevant qualification in risk management
7. Demonstrable experience in risk management within a large, multi-disciplinary organisation.
8. Experience of running a risk management process.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
