We are looking to recruit a support worker to provide bank cover for permanent members of a small team supporting our client living in her home and the community. Due to the intimate nature of the role, we are specifically looking to hire an experienced female who can provide the highest level of care and support to our client. This is an exception to the Equality Act 2010.
Location & Compensation
* Location: Birmingham, Walsall
* Salary: £15.00 per hour
* Contract: 0‑hour contract (bank cover)
* Benefits: 5.6 weeks holiday pay pro‑rata (including bank holidays) and pension, payment to attend all training, free parking.
The Role
* Assisting with all aspects of self‑care and domestic tasks.
* Assisting with activities within the home, including cooking, baking and craft work.
* Assisting with community access and companionship.
* Providing a daily written record of work, noting any changes or significant events.
* Encouraging the client to live a full, active and valued life.
* Administering medication and keeping a record of any prescribed medication.
About You
* You have a positive, friendly, fun and bubbly personality.
* You enjoy being sociable and listen to music; you are an animal lover as the client receives regular visits from cats and dogs.
* You are open‑minded, willing to learn new skills and have a basic level of education with good written and verbal communication skills.
* No specific qualifications are required, but you are ready to undertake mandatory training and learn client‑specific skills.
* You can provide high‑standard therapeutic support with a caring and professional approach.
* You can complete domestic tasks, general cleaning and dusting.
* Knowledge of spinal cord injuries and catheter care is advantageous, though clinical support will be provided by experienced nurses.
You Must Have
* A full clean driving licence and ability to drive a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle.
* At least one year of professional experience working as a carer with adults.
Shift Patterns
* 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
