Our work matters to millions. It’ll matter to you too. Join our Living Places team as a Street Lighting Operative on the Cambridgeshire County Council Contract and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.
What you'll be doing
Your Accountabilities Will Be As Follows
* Installation, repair and maintenance of street lighting assets, including columns, lanterns, LED lantern replacements, beacons, lamps, brackets, underground SWA cables, illuminated bollards, illuminated signs, feeder pillars and subway lights.
* Predominantly lone working, however there will be occasions where team working is required.
* Painting of various street furniture.
* Ground excavations and reinstatement for installation works.
* Dynamic risk assessments.
* Responsible for company property, equipment and vehicles.
* Stand-by rota for out of hours call-outs and emergencies.
Who we're looking for
Essential
* Full clean UK driving licence.
* Competence in street lighting operations.
* Knowledge of fault-finding, repairs and general maintenance.
* Comfortable with basic IT – a tablet device will be provided for site works.

* IPAF 1b + Harness & Fall Arrest
* G39 + 214 Safe Isolation

* 302.1 (12D) Traffic Management
* 204.1 Abrasive Wheels
* An understanding of Sign Lighting & Guarding
* Electrical testing qualification / experience would be beneficial
