Your role will be based in Bradshaw Lodge, which is under construction and is set to open in October 2025. As a Care Assistant, you will provide the best possible care and support (physically and emotionally) to our residents on a daily/nightly basis. Your responsibilities will include personal care, preparing residents for the next day, assisting with meals and providing day‑to‑day social interaction, all of which are essential to each resident's physical and emotional wellbeing. Being a Care Assistant is a busy role where resident needs are your top priority.
Shift Details
* Permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off.
* Shift options available.
* Bank contracts available.
* Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.25 (Days) / £13.75 (Nights)
Key Responsibilities
* Understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements relevant to health and safety, COSHH, the Health & Social Care Act, and maintain a safe environment throughout the home. Understand and be aware of Infection Control.
* Always be alert to residents' physical and mental wellbeing, immediately report any changes in a resident's condition to a senior person on duty, and accurately maintain and update residents' records as required.
* Respect and maintain confidentiality of residents' personal information at all times, including behaviours, actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day‑to‑day care.
* Be understanding and patient towards residents and their needs, encourage, assist and support residents to participate in leisure activities as appropriate to the individual, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. This includes escorting residents to outside appointments and leisure outings.
* Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying residents' rooms (with the resident's permission), undertaking light cleaning duties as needed and generally assisting in ensuring the home is kept clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times.
* Be an active and supportive member of the care team, contribute to team meetings, ensure good communication and help new team members as appropriate, ensuring a friendly and supportive working environment.
* Undertake other tasks deemed appropriate by the General Manager.
