Job Title: CNC Programmer/Setter Heidenhain
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-12:30pm)
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager Responsibilities
The core function of this role is to program, set, and operate Heidenhain controls within a medium to high batch machining cell. The role requires the development of effective cutting strategies for high-volume production, demanding excellent tooling knowledge and high attention to detail for high-tolerance work (e.g., in the automotive sector). The successful candidate must interpret detailed engineering drawings to produce conforming parts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Must be a time-served engineer with relevant post-qualification experience in a technical machining background.
Proficiency in programming Heidenhain controls.
Experience working with various materials, including exotic grade alloys.
A detailed understanding of engineering drawings, tooling selection, work holding, and cutting strategies is essential.
Strong commitment to Health & Safety (H&S) and quality standards.
