A unique opportunity has become available for a clinician or non-clinician (with healthcare knowledge or experience) to lead on strategic activities related to Clinical Innovation.
This role is designed to develop future medical leaders, providing insight, experience & opportunity in the field of clinical & health service innovation. The post holder will support the Director of Innovation & Strategic Partnerships on driving a progressive innovation agenda. They will actively contribute to strategic thinking, partnership creation and development & innovation projects working across clinical service, academia, life science & private sector. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring leaders to gain experience at organizational & executive level of political, economic and factors driving healthcare & make links with national organisations across sectors. The post holder will work & interact with a range of teams including but not limited to executive, innovation, operational, commercial, legal, venture capital, research and development, AI, data & digital innovation, & engaging with experts in those fields among others.

Main duties of the job
The post holder's time will be spent in leadership, clinical and health service innovation, and partnership working.
The main focus will be initiatives that drive towards the overall strategic innovation goals of the trust. There will be opportunities for the post holder to develop an initiative aimed at clinical staff to build an active community of engaged clinical and non-clinical innovators who can access a range of resources to support them and seamlessly network with a broad cross section of other innovators from across the Trust. This fellowship aims to develop those with strong leadership potential to flourish in future roles.
The fellow works closely with the clinical directorates providing that bridge to connect, develop and co-create in the innovation and improvement areas, but also provides high level expertise and experience to enhance and compliment the delivery and innovation teams within CITI. The fellow role acts as an "expert in residence" for CITI, but also works with the clinical teams in piloting innovative practice and products. The fellow role will need to be able to interact, engage and evaluate conversations and interactions with industry, stakeholders, entrepreneurs and innovators, and therefore will need some experience in this field.

Centre for Innovation, Transformation and Improvement
CITI at Guy's and St Thomas' was newly founded in 2021 under the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE). The DCE is the Executive Director responsible for leading and implementing the Trust's strategy for innovation and improvement, which aims to develop an ecosystem that encourages the acceleration of new knowledge and capabilities and learn from best practices globally, to deliver improvements in patient care, research and education at scale. CITI co-locates multi-faceted teams to provide the focal point for clinical innovators and services seeking to translate ideas or early stage products or improvements into clinical practice. The Centre aims both to incubate and deliver innovations and improvement ideas, projects and programmes, working alongside and for its clinical customers for the benefit of patients.
CITI builds on industry best practice in taking innovation from concept to practice. It aims to foster a culture of innovation and improvement throughout the Trust, and acts as the intellectual home of our core change methodologies.
CITI aims to improve the adoption of new clinical technologies with an agile operational model, delivering a data-driven approach to evaluating performance of novel technologies, creating a sustainable culture of innovation in clinical and operational workforce, and to build enduring partnerships with academia, industry, investors, our communities and other key Stakeholders.

The clinical leadership fellow role is an important and vital role supporting the full function of CITI and its aims and ambitions in cultivating and catalysing an innovation and transformative culture within our clinical teams. The fellow works closely with the clinical directorates providing that bridge to connect, develop and co-create in the innovation and improvement areas, but also provides high level expertise and experience to enhance and compliment the delivery and innovation teams within CITI. 4. Content curation, planning and research into network engagement events and marketing
5. Strategy writing supporting the Trust's clinical groups ambitions to deliver excellence in healthcare and innovation
6. Partnership creation - working alongside the Head of Industry Partners to deliver against the strategic industry partnership pipeline supporting with evaluation and engagement.
