Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Annual Salary: £65,000 to £85,000
* Location: Dorset, with site visits
* Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a Surveyor with a strong background in quantity surveying and preferably, Civils or groundworks. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is confident and capable of meeting challenging deadlines daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including financial reporting, site visits, and client correspondence.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Work within the Commercial team, reporting to the board as necessary.
* Conduct monthly reporting and financial analysis of site activities.
* Perform periodic site visits, typically once per week.
* Discuss site activities with construction teams and submit variations to the client.
* Handle client correspondence, focusing on commercial and contractual matters.
* Measure and quantify from both drawings and site visits.
* Produce Bills of Quantities and cost breakdowns.
* Compile and submit monthly applications.
* Participate in the estimating process as needed.
* Communicate commercial information to other departments.
* Attend client meetings, sometimes alongside Senior Management.
* Form and submit subcontractor enquiries.
* Check and approve subcontractor invoices.
* Perform general administrative duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Ideally experienced in Groundworks, Civils or Residential groundworks
* Strong commercial acumen.
* Proficiency in numeracy and literacy.
* Efficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe.
* Full clean UK driving licence.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
* Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while being self-motivated.
