This role plays a critical part in leading the successful implementation, integration and delivery of PMO and Project Controls services across a highly regulated, nationally significant project. Note: Due to the nature of this work, candidates must be eligible for security clearance (SC). Existing SC clearance is highly desirable. You’ll be responsible for: Managing PMO and Project Controls performance across the assigned commission. Developing and implementing effective PMO and Project Controls frameworks and strategies. Acting as a trusted advisor, building strong professional relationships with client organisations. Serving as the Subject Matter Expert for PMO and Project Controls across projects/programmes/portfolios. Directing the administration of PMO and Project Controls processes, particularly cost, schedule, change, risk and reporting. Structuring governance activities, performance reviews and periodic reporting cycles. Overseeing the development and management of project baselines (scope, cost, time, risk, assumptions) and monitor delivery performance, change and contingency. Supporting and facilitate Quantitative Risk Analysis (cost and time). Ensuring all PMO and Controls activities align with Mace control centre standards, client requirements and statutory obligations. Providing line management, mentoring and development guidance to junior PMO and Project Controls staff. Driving innovation and alignment with industry best practice to ensure service excellence. Manging the delivery of a high‑performing PMO and Controls team on the assigned commission. Supporting the PMO and Project Controls Director with resource planning and recruitment. Contributing to net‑zero objectives through proactive carbon‑impact identification and reduction. You’ll need to have: Proven experience in PMO and Project Controls leadership on major construction or consultancy projects. Strong background in establishing PMO/Project Controls governance frameworks and assurance strategies. Expert knowledge of PMO and Project Controls tools and techniques, including MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6 and RiskHive. Understanding of risk‑related tools such as Primavera Risk Analyser or Active Risk Manager. Practical experience working with reporting and data visualisation tools such as Power BI. Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, dependencies and interfaces. Experience providing PMO/Project Controls leadership across multiple sectors (e.g., rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, healthcare). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; confident presenting to senior audiences.
