A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact on their educational journey.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, both in the classroom and through targeted small-group or one-to-one interventions. The role may involve supporting students with additional learning needs, helping to maintain engagement, and promoting positive behaviour and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students’ learning and progress within the classroom
Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning objectives
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
Supporting students’ social, emotional and academic development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with secondary-aged students (desirable but not essential)
A patient, adaptable and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in supporting young people’s learning and wellbeing
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
