This is a full-time, permanent role and an excellent opportunity to start your journey into Further Education. You will be a key member of a collaborative team, focusing on providing excellent learner experiences. The successful applicant will support a caseload of students, working closely with curriculum and student services staff to support their academic and personal development.
Responsibilities include supporting students to improve their learning skills, achieve personal targets, and progress to further/higher education, training, or employment. You will set and monitor academic and personal development targets, support study skills, and participate in volunteering, mentoring, and leadership activities. The role involves working with vulnerable students and developing intervention strategies to support their success.
Role Responsibilities
1. Work with Curriculum Teams to ensure all students know their current and target grades.
2. Support students in their personal development to become independent learners.
3. Follow safeguarding procedures for vulnerable students.
4. Provide information and guidance on available support services, including careers, financial aid, travel, accommodation, and welfare.
5. Collaborate with college staff across departments, including Programme Leaders, Curriculum Managers, and student support teams.
We seek individuals with a desire for continuous improvement, problem-solving skills, and the ability to inspire others. Flexibility, up-to-date sector knowledge, and a strong pastoral background are desirable. Supporting changemaker students to create positive community impact is encouraged. The ideal candidate will have Level 2 English, Maths, and Digital skills, and a Level 3 Qualification.
