We are looking for an Estimator to support the successful delivery of projects across the region, either within our Central Estimating Team or embedded in a Business Unit. You'll work across a diverse portfolio including Water & Water Recycling Treatment Plants, Pipelines, Pumping Stations & Reservoirs and Network Storage. You'll play an important role in preparing cost estimates, supporting project teams, and contributing to continuous improvement within the alliance.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Project Support
* Prepare CAPEX estimates at all project stages—from early optioneering through to detailed design and target cost development
* Work with multi‑disciplinary teams to understand and quantify project scope
* Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to gather cost information
* Use estimating software and MS Excel to produce accurate estimates
Systems & Improvement
* Learn and apply @one Alliance estimating systems and processes
* Support improvements by identifying best practices and efficiencies
Cost Modelling & Innovation
* Help develop cost models for repeatable project elements
* Work with digital tools, including 3D models, to understand scope
Cost Base & Data Management
* Maintain and update cost databases and quotation libraries
* Identify discrepancies between market rates and internal cost data
* Liaise with Procurement for early engagement and cost validation
Commercial & Cost Capture
* Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure smooth handover of estimates
* Structure estimates to align with Anglian Water cost capture requirements

Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience
* Understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, or process engineering
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
* Able to manage workload and meet deadlines
* Confident using MS Office (especially Excel)
Desirable
* Estimating experience with a desire to develop career further
* Exposure to estimating software and contractor/subcontractor environments
* Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, or similar sectors
