Whitecliffs is a 13 bed Residential Service currently supporting 12 service users who have learning and physical disabilities. Some service users require support with mental health. The service is located in Dover, and it is close to public transport with lots of onsite parking. The service is set over 2 houses next door to each other it has a sensory room and an awesome cinema room! The service is currently supporting 10 Male service users and 3 female service users, ages of the service users range between 30 to 70. Carer progression within the company. The Role We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. To help them achieve this you will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potential sleep ins. Main duties and responsibilities To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment. To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events. To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required. To work as part of a team to provide high quality care. Personal Characteristics: Diploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one. Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. The ability to keep calm under pressure. The confidence to work alone or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills The passion to work with vulnerable adults The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
