About the Post

The post is for 10 PAs and the successful candidate will join 8 full time and 3 part time equivalent colleagues who cover Renal services in a geographical area between Ripon and the Yorkshire East Coast including clinical work in Harrogate, York and Scarborough hospitals and their affiliated dialysis units. There is no General Medicine 'on call' attached to this post but we do operate a renal 'on call' rota out of hours together with an inpatient 'duty' role that includes occasional weekend working (approx. 1:8). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a strong ethos in team work and quality improvement who is fully registered with the GMC.

Consultant Nephrologist

We are looking to welcome applications for a Consultant Nephrologist, to join a dynamic multidisciplinary renal team based at York Hospital. We can offer a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover a maternity leave.

It is an exciting time to join the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Renal Team. There are plans for redevelopment of our dialysis units, the renal ward and ongoing service development opportunities in York and affiliated satellite hospitals.

The Renal Department enjoys a close affiliation to the Hull York Medical School and has an active research team.

A full range of renal replacement therapies are managed by the team, including our pioneering self-care haemodialysis areas. We also have very active home therapies and transplantation programmes.

We are open to discuss any specific or specialised job plans that candidates may desire, including flexible/less than full time working. DBS Checks

Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.

Relocation Package

The Trust offers a generous relocation package of up to 30% of salary (capped at £18k) to support with relocation expenses for hard to fill positions where relocation would be an expectation to undertake the role fully.
