The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1300 people and provide a wide range of services across our UK sites.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with excellent management skills to support the periodic review of the maintenance supply chain, with the aim of maximising value and efficiency, driving more strategic supplier relationships and ensuring policy and procedure are followed. You will lead a high performing, customer‑focussed Commercial & Performance Management team and will work closely with other Estates Operations and Procurement colleagues to ensure all required maintenance delivery and consultancy contracts are managed effectively to the agreed legal, commercial and performance criteria.
The successful candidate will drive high standards of commercial management and governance, in full compliance with all university financial regulations and procurement policies and processes and will work in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure contracts are managed to agreed budgets and will provide day‑to‑line management for the Commercial and Performance Management Team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree, HND or equivalent with relevant experience in a similar role or proven experience within a similar role.
* Experience in common forms of maintenance contract such as NEC and JCT, including commercial and performance management and reporting.
* Proven operational or line management experience in senior positions.
* Valid full‑drive licence required.

Hours
This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full‑time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
