We’re Hiring: Controls Engineer – Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) Location: Wiltshire, UK Salary: Up to £60,000 (depending on experience) Travel: Occasional international travel We’re looking for a Controls Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) projects for a wide range of industries. In this role, you’ll be involved in the design, development, and commissioning of PLC control systems, working with both Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms. You’ll play a key role in taking projects from concept through to on-site commissioning, helping deliver innovative automation solutions for customers worldwide. Key Responsibilities: PLC programming using Siemens and Allen-Bradley systems HMI/SCADA development and integration Electrical control system design and documentation Machine commissioning and testing (factory and occasional site-based) Supporting installation and start-up of machinery at customer sites Working closely with mechanical and project engineering teams What we’re looking for: Experience programming Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs Background in special purpose machinery, automation, or industrial systems Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills Ability to work across multiple projects and industries Willingness to travel internationally on occasion What’s on offer: Competitive salary up to £60,000 Varied and technically interesting SPM projects Opportunity to work across multiple industries Supportive engineering environment with room to grow If you’re a Controls Engineer looking to work on innovative automation projects with a mix of office, workshop, and occasional international travel, we’d love to hear from you.
