About the role:
We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker in Manchester. You will work in a two-bed home for young people with backgrounds of EBD and CSE, aged 12-17. The provider is Ofsted rated 'Good'.
The main purpose is to work with young people to achieve positive outcomes through a restorative approach by showing empathy, understanding, conflict resolution, collaboration, empowerment, and positive role modeling.
Your key responsibilities:
* Operate as a shift leader on a rota.
* Collaborate with social workers, staff, and other practitioners to provide practical and emotional support, fostering a culture of joint working and shared vision.
* Meet the needs of children using a restorative approach, developing relationships to support decision-making and engagement.
* Develop partnerships with other services, the community, and agencies to deliver holistic support to children with complex needs.
* Deliver specialist interventions and programmes.
* Assist in managing the team and service, including rota management and supporting the management of the home.
* Formulate assessments, plans, and reviews (e.g., Care Plans, Pathway Plans) for each child or young person.
* Act as a key worker and positive role model.
* Organize and participate in activities during leisure time and holidays, including overnight stays.
* Hold a Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare.
* Have good knowledge of Children’s Homes regulations (2015) and standards.
* Possess at least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential home.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
