Research Associate in Carbon Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications
Join UNSW’s School of Chemical Engineering for an exciting research role focused on the synthesis, optimisation, characterisation and biological testing of carbon nanomaterials.
Opportunity
The position is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract based in Kensington, Sydney. It offers the chance to develop scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally, contribute to scientific papers, participate in conferences, supervise HDR students and engage with industry partners.
Responsibilities
* Design and conduct experimental work across synthesis, optimisation, characterisation, catalytic analysis and biological testing of nanomaterials.
* Write scientific papers and reports for international journals.
* Participate in conferences, workshops and industry partner engagements.
* Supervise HDR students and collaborate across disciplines.
Qualifications
* PhD in material science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or a related nanotechnology‑related area.
* Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations in the relevant field.
* Experience in synthesis, characterisation, catalysis and/or bio‑applications of carbon nanomaterials.
* Independent research skills with limited supervision and ability to work in a team.
* Strong communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
* Commitment to UNSW’s values and relevant health and safety training.
