Job Description
Senior / Master Fleet Vehicle Technician
We are looking for an experienced Senior / Master Technician to take a leading role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of vans and buses.
This is not a retail dealership role.
This is not a steady 9–5 servicing line.
This is a critical fleet operation where vehicles need to be safe, compliant, and back on the road — sometimes urgently.
If you thrive under responsibility, take ownership, and understand the realities of fleet work, this could be an excellent opportunity.
The Role
You will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of a mixed fleet of commercial vans and buses, ensuring all vehicles meet safety and compliance standards.
The nature of fleet operations means:
* Workloads can fluctuate
* Priorities can change at short notice
* Occasional flexibility around hours may be required
This role requires dedication, dependability, and a proactive mindset.
Responsibilities:
* Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing fleet vans and buses
* Working to DVSA and manufacturer standards
* Completing work in line with approved repair methods and compliance requirements
* Working confidently with garage management software and digital job systems
* Managing preventative maintenance schedules
* Identifying issues before they become breakdowns
* Supporting and mentoring junior technicians
* Maintaining detailed and accurate job records
* Upholding high standards of safety, compliance, and workshop discipline
What We’re Looking For
We need someone senior, experienced, and resilient.
Essential:
o Master Technician / Level 4 qualification or equivalent senior experience
o Strong diagnostic experience (electrical, mechanical, and systems faults)
o Experience working on commercial vehicles (vans and/or buses preferred)
o Comfortable working to approved times and compliance standards
o Experience using workshop management systems
o A flexible and dependable approach to working hours
o The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure
o A team-first attitude and willingness to mentor others
Desirable:
o EV / Hybrid commercial vehicle experience
o PSV or HGV experience
Who This Role Suits
This role will suit someone who:
o Understands the responsibility that comes with fleet safety
o Doesn’t need micromanaging
o Can adapt when the day doesn’t go to plan
o Takes pride in reliability and professionalism
o Wants to play a key role in keeping essential vehicles operational
What We Offer
o Salary up to £60,000 per year (DOE)
o A senior, respected position within the workshop
o Long-term stability
o A professional, structured environment
o The opportunity to lead and influence standards
Please Note
This is a demanding role within a live fleet operation.
We are looking for long-term commitment and someone who fully understands the expectations that come with this level of responsibility.
If that sounds like you, we’d welcome your application.
