Asset Specialist – RCR Mining Technologies

This is a hands‑on, highly autonomous role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of key production assets.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Asset Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the performance and compliance of workshop assets including machine tools, cranes, forklifts, vehicles, and classified plant. You’ll oversee servicing schedules, inspections, maintenance planning, contractor coordination, and upgrades—all while upholding RCR’s commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Maintenance
* Develop, implement, and manage service schedules in line with OEM requirements.
* Maintain accurate registers, service histories, and inspection records.
* Coordinate statutory inspections to meet required intervals.
* Lead or oversee routine and breakdown maintenance activities.
* Procure materials, tooling, and spare parts as required.
* Manage subcontractors for specialist service or repair work.
* Support CAPEX planning by identifying long‑term asset replacement needs.
* Coordinate installation, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs of new and existing assets.
* Assist with facility and grounds maintenance when required.
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all HSE policies and procedures are followed during asset operation and maintenance.
* Support HSE with risk assessments and safe work procedures for new and existing plant.
* Promote RCR’s Safe Day Every Day values and ensure compliance with AS/NZS 45001 & 14001.
Quality
* Assist in investigating QA/QC issues relating to equipment reliability or performance.
* Uphold AS/NZS 9001 Quality Management Systems principles.
* Raise purchase requisitions for parts, tooling, consumables, and contractor services.
About You
* Experience working in manufacturing workshops or industrial facilities.
* Strong knowledge of fixed and mobile manufacturing assets.
* Solid understanding of safety regulations and safe work practices.
* Competent with MS Office and general computer applications.
* Trade qualification (Mechanical Fitter or Electrical).
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical drawings.
* High‑risk licences such as Forklift, EWP or Working at Heights.
