JOB DESCRIPTION
To produce accurate machined (turned) parts, to specific standards, on-time, maintaining quality, tolerances, safety standards, within budget based on the project plan and in order to improve the efficiency and quality of products.
THE ROLE
Set up and operate CNC Lathes (Mazak & Mori Seiki) to produce precision rolls and components.Interpret technical drawings and CAD models producing CAM (Edgecam) programmes.Load materials into machines and monitor machining processes.Adjust machine settings and tool offsets to ensure quality and efficiency.Inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.Maintain equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.Maintain accurate production records and adhere to job order specifications.Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.Collaborate with engineers and quality control to ensure specifications are met.Assist in the development of new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures to optimise performanceTrain other personnel in the use of the machines and techniques, including your team and apprentices.Daily completion of digital timesheets and work cardsCarry out any other duties within the capability of the job holder.
