Annual salary: up to £53,500.00 Quality, Health and Safety Manager Location: Remote Contract: Full time, Permanent Role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary up to £53,500 per annum As our Quality Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with contractual, legal and organisational requirements across our housing services. You will use your hands-on expertise to provide practical solutions, offer operational support, maintaining a robust and value-adding Quality Management System (QMS). You’ll work closely with senior managers, operational teams and subcontractors to ensure best practice across areas including asbestos, fire safety, damp and mould, and general housing safety standards. Key Responsibilities Fulfil the contract’s Health & Safety requirements, ensuring compliance across housing-related risks including asbestos, fire, damp and mould. Deliver and maintain a value-adding Quality Management System and improvement plan aligned with contract needs. Instil and promote a strong Health & Safety culture throughout service delivery. Review and update QMS and SHE plans in line with legislative and contractual changes. Review risk assessments, incident and accident reports, and support the resolution of issues. Monitor H&S training needs; deliver or arrange suitable training programmes. Ensure adequate provision of First Aiders and Mental Health First Aiders, providing guidance and support where required. Develop, maintain and support ISO accreditations (including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001). Undertake regular audits of processes, stock and subcontractors to identify improvements and evidence compliance. Maintain logs, registers and plans such as the risk register and business continuity plan. Provide regular performance reporting to management and the Contract Delivery Director. Manage background checks, security clearances and subcontractor audits. Oversee physical site security including alarms, access control, ID badges and data security compliance. Deliver induction, refresher training and contribute to team and individual development plans. Provide hands-on support across operational functions and contribute to ad-hoc projects. Ensure full compliance with the Mears code of conduct, policies and contract terms.
