Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (DOE) + Bonus Scheme

This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking and therapeutic care provider as a Registered Manager for a brand-new solo children’s home.
About the Role:
As the Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading a solo children’s home, delivering outstanding care and ensuring the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of children aged 7–18. You’ll be given autonomy to shape the service from its pre-registration phase through to operation, supported by a knowledgeable and engaged senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead all aspects of home management, including regulatory compliance, safeguarding, and staffing.

Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring a nurturing, safe, and trauma-informed environment.
*
Embed therapeutic models (such as ARC and PACE) into daily care practices.
*
Manage and develop a skilled, resilient team through recruitment, training, and supervision.
*
Liaise effectively with external agencies, local authorities, and families.
*
Ensure readiness for and successful outcomes from Ofsted inspections.
*
Take the lead in budget management, service planning, and operational strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
*
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting within the last 5 years.
*
At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role—open to existing Registered Managers or strong Deputy Managers ready for the next step.
*
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People’s Residential Management), or working toward it.
*
Strong understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding practices.
*
Experience of supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
*
Commitment to trauma-informed care and a therapeutic, person-centred approach.
*
Full UK driving licence required.
