What you’ll be doing
as a Technical Training Consultant
In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our clean water employees and contractors have the knowledge, skills and competencies to work safely, effectively, and in line with internal standards and external regulations.
1. Deliver high-quality Operational, Technical and Health & Safety training with consistent standards and strong learner engagement.
2. Promote strong learner engagement through effective facilitation techniques.
3. Use digital systems to record learner competence and explore new, effective delivery methods.
4. Review, update and maintain existing training content in line with changes to processes, legislation or equipment to keep training current.
5. Explore alternative delivery mediums and collaborate with Design Studio, H&S, Operations and L&D teams to enhance learning experiences.
6. Maintain active proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Viva Engage and other communication tools.
7. Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and support competency development as a subject matter expert
8. Visit operational sites to observe training applied in practice, identifying opportunities for improvement
9. Work closely with the wider Field Ops training team to upskill and support the delivery of clean networks and H&S training.
10. As a Technical Training Consultant, you will be expected to deliver training across the whole Thames Water geographical area, so travel is a reasonable expectation of the role.
Base location: Hybrid - Wraysbury, Staines - TW19 5NR
Working hours: 36 hours, Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
11. Experience delivering training, with a minimum Level 3 training qualification or equivalent technical experience.
12. Experience working within the clean water production and supply industry- water production/network qualifications are beneficial.
13. A genuine passion for sharing knowledge and supporting learner development.
14. Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
15. A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
16. IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications (desirable).
17. Comfortable travelling across the Thames Water region.
18. Full driving licence is required.
