Start Date: 25th May Reporting to the Accreditation Integration Manager, the Accreditation Venue Manager will lead the delivery of accreditation operations at an assigned venue during Games-time. This role is responsible for managing the venue accreditation centre, overseeing the on-site accreditation process, and ensuring the smooth and secure entry of accredited client groups. Working as part of a wider accreditation operations network, the Accreditation Venue Manager will coordinate with Venue Management, Security, Workforce, Sport, and Technology teams to deliver a high-quality, efficient, and consistent service that supports successful venue operations. Working arrangements The role will initially be based at the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits to competition venues as required to support the effective delivery of responsibilities. As the Games approach, the role will transition to being primarily based at your assigned competition venue. The position is initially contracted for 37.5 hours per week (with a 30-minute lunch break), with office attendance aligned to the Organising Company’s working pattern. During the Games-time operational period, shift patterns will apply and may include evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities Lead the on-site delivery of accreditation operations at the assigned competition or non-competition venue. Manage the Venue Accreditation Centre (VAC) team, ensuring effective daily operations, staff scheduling, and service standards. Oversee the production, distribution, and validation of accreditation passes in line with Games policies and security protocols. Ensure accurate and secure handling of accreditation materials and data. Act as the key liaison between venue teams, security, transport, and other functional areas to ensure accreditation-related readiness. Deliver pre-opening preparations, including fit-out, equipment testing, and staff training for the VAC. Monitor and report on daily operational performance, addressing issues swiftly and escalating when necessary. Support decommissioning of the VAC post-Games, ensuring proper return of materials and close-out of systems. Contribute to an inclusive and positive working environment by leading, motivating, and supporting the venue team. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Experience managing accreditation or operations functions at major sporting or multi-day events. Strong team leadership and on-site operational management experience. Excellent stakeholder coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills. Understanding of accreditation and access control principles within large event environments. Competent in the use of event systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Accreditation Management Systems (AMS) advantageous. Comfortable working long shifts, weekends, and under pressure during event-time operations. Competencies Skilled in building trust and working effectively across stakeholder groups.
