Job overview
This is a split post where you will spend half of your time with the Pharmacy Paediatric Team and the other half with the Medicines Safety Team.
Please note this is a 12-month fixed term or secondment opportunity.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings or out‑patient clinics as appropriate in order to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other health care professionals within the paediatric directorate. They are expected to participate in clinical audit and quality improvement, and in the development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines for use of medicines within paediatrics. Collaboration with the rest of the members of the clinical pharmacy team to support the strategic developments of the service (e.g. electronic prescribing, improved discharge processes, accredited technician checking) will be expected.

It provides an opportunity to expand expertise and skillset, to be involved in service development or improvement and to put leadership skills into action in a supportive setting.
