Senior Quantity SurveyorGalldris GroupLocation: Aylesbury, BuckinghamshireAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background.The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible in managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures and minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while achieving the required standards and quality.The ideal candidate will have to hold a full UK driving licence, as travel between sites is necessary.Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to:Analytical Thinking & Decision MakingOrders information and systematically checks dataMaximises digital opportunities Cost EngineeringPrepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documentsEstimatingCritically appraises, estimates, and negotiates the above with 3rd partiesPlanningReviews complex contract programmes such as Time-LocationAssists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmesProject ManagementMonitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriatelyAnalyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staffManages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibilityProcurementUndertakes constructability analyses using construction programmesPrepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategyCommercial ManagementAnalyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as requiredUndertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibilityPrepares, submits, and negotiates claims when required. Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliationComply with Company proceduresExperience/Knowledge:Wide experience of civil engineering. Manage all commercial aspects of the project and be fluent in contract law and terminologyHigh proficiency in operating the NEC3 Options A, B and C forms of contractMust be capable of producing robust Cost Plans and CVR’s and presenting to regional managers/boardExperience of managing a teamGood knowledge of and adheres to the Company’s GMCEs, BMS and other governanceQualifications:Degree in Building Surveying or similar technical qualification (HND HNC)Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) MembershipCSCS CardSkills:Ability to use a range of IT packages, Microsoft Office and bespoke packagesExceptional relationship building skillsSelf-motivated and proactive Commercial awareness and understanding of the Construction processExcellent communication skills, both oral & writtenNegotiation skills and ability to apply those skills internally, externally & with our supply chainPositive attitude at all times and the ability to integrate and play active part in the Construction TeamGood organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlinesInterested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.Should you feel you have what it takes to be successful in this role then we would love to hear from you.Employee referral scheme - refer a friend or family member to work for Galldris.
