Requirements
Must have:
- Expertise in modern Data Engineering - Experience with building and operating data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred) - Strong foundations in data modelling, transformation, and orchestration - Pragmatic approach to architecture decisions, balancing long-term thinking with delivery needs - Proven ability to improve data quality, discoverability, and usability across an organization - Experience in a hands-on leadership role with a focus on Data Engineering - Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams and with non-technical stakeholders - Collaborative and pragmatic work ethic
Responsibilities:
- Set the direction for Data Engineering and build data foundations to support company growth - Manage the data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, modeling, serving, and ensuring accessibility - Build and improve trusted, self-serve data capabilities for internal teams and product use cases - Ensure clear ownership and governance of data initiatives - Partner with Data Science and Platform teams to deliver secure and well-operated data systems - Collaborate across Engineering and the wider business to reduce operational overhead and improve maintainability and reliability - Strengthen standards, simplify patterns, and enhance the overall data infrastructure
