We are seeking a dynamic Deputy Manager to play a pivotal role in a high-quality children's residential home in Wales. This is more than a supervisory role; you'll be relied upon to deputise for the Registered Manager across multiple homes when needed, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a nurturing environment for both young people and staff.
Key Responsibilities & Rewards

Operational Leadership: Confidently deputise for the Registered Manager, overseeing all daily functions and ensuring the service consistently meets the highest care quality standards.

RISCA Compliance Authority: Be the resident expert on the Children’s Home Regulations for Wales (RISCA), driving best practice and compliance across all procedures.

Staff Development: Act as a key mentor and Team Builder, organising staff rotas, providing strong supervision and development, and fostering an accountable, positive team culture.

Safeguarding Champion: Maintain the highest level of safeguarding, promoting an ethical, non-discriminatory, and child-centric environment where young people are heard.
Location: Wales (Specific location details provided upon application). Hours: 40 hours per week, based on a rotational shift pattern.
Essential Criteria

Qualification: QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children's Health and Social Care (or equivalent Level 4/5 relevant to Children & YP).
*
Experience: Minimum 2 years of management experience in a children's residential care setting. Must have verifiable experience acting up to cover the Registered Manager's absence.

Knowledge: Expert understanding of RISCA regulations and current sector judgments.
*
Registration: Current professional registration with Social Care Wales (SCW) and registration with the DBS Update Service.
*
Mobility: Must hold a UK Manual Drivers Licence.
