The post holder will provide highly specialist mental health nursing assessment, treatment and care to adolescents aged 13–18 years and their families within the Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT).
The role includes clinical leadership, care coordination, supervision, service development and multi-agency working within a community-based multidisciplinary CAMHS service. The post holder will hold a complex caseload, contribute to MDT decision-making, manage risk, and ensure high-quality, patient-centred care in line with Trust policies, professional standards and legislation.
Main duties of the job
1.Deliver specialist CAMHS nursing assessment, intervention and care for adolescents with complex and high-risk mental health presentations.
2.Act as Care Coordinator for a defined caseload in line with CPA guidelines.
3.Contribute to a duty service.
Work collaboratively with families, MDT colleagues and partner agencies to promote safe, effective and coordinated care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·Undertake comprehensive mental health and risk assessments of young people and families.
·Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including individual, family and group work.
·Work flexibly across community settings including clinics, schools and family homes.
·Manage safeguarding concerns and ensure adherence to child protection procedures.
Support transition of young people to adult mental health services.

Education Qualification/ Training
Essential criteria
1. •Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration •Relevant postgraduate qualification •ENB 603 or equivalent CAMHS qualification
Desirable criteria
2. •Master’s degree or working towards postgraduate qualification •Additional accredited psychotherapy training
Experience
Essential criteria
3. •Minimum 18 months experience in CAMHS or equivalent setting •Experience working in multidisciplinary teams •Experience working with high-risk and vulnerable adolescents •Experience of multi-agency working •Experience working in culturally diverse communities
Desirable criteria
4. •Specialist CAMHS experience (e.g. YOT, Eating Disorders, Inpatient CAMHS) •Experience supervising junior staff •Community CAMHS experience
Knowledge and Skills
