The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our team based in Manchester. This is a key role in ensuring sound financial management and providing strategic insight to support decision-making across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, developing reporting systems, and contributing to financial strategy and planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insight and variance analysis to senior management.
* Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and statutory requirements.
* Support internal and external audit processes.
* Work closely with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategies and models.
* Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
* Provide financial oversight on projects, partnerships, and initiatives across the organisation.
* Mentor and support junior finance team members.
Key Requirements
* Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
* Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the sporting sector.
* Proven track record in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning.
* Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations in the UK.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
* Experience in managing audits and liaising with external advisors.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
