Salary: £28,000-£35,000 per year (pro rata, depending on experience)

The Role
We are looking for a Legal Cashier / Finance Assistant to support our finance function. You will work as part of the team to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with good attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing client and office account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
* Monitoring and allocating daily client funds, including CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments
* Handling billing, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations
* Supporting credit control and accounts payable
* Posting expenses such as fees and travel costs
* Handling Infotrack and Land Registry invoices
* Preparing and maintaining financial records with accuracy
* Assisting with VAT returns and supporting year-end processes
* Performing general administrative duties including filing and record maintenance
* Providing general finance administration support to the team
About You
* Previous experience as a legal cashier or in a finance/accounts role
* Law firm experience preferred but not essential
* Understanding of SRA Accounts Rules (preferred, training can be provided)
* Good Excel and IT skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
* Proactive, reliable, and a good communicator
