You will be working for Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council’s Award-Winning In-House Building Maintenance Team; working on the Council’s Housing Stock, Civic Buildings and other Clients of Housing &munities.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and refurbishment of kitchens in council-owned housing stock and public buildings. Your work will ensure safe, functional, and modern kitchen facilities for our tenants and service users.
Hours: 8am - Monday to Friday (Friday finishes at Key Responsibilities:
1. Install full kitchen units including base/wall cupboards, worktops, sinks, and appliances.
2. Carry out associated works including plumbing, tiling, basic electrical fittings (as permitted), and carpentry.
3. Remove old kitchen units and dispose of waste in line with environmental policies.
4. Ensure all installations meet BCP Council standards andply with building regulations.
5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety procedures.
6. Liaise professionally with tenants, other tradespeople, and council representatives.
7. Maintain accurate records ofpleted works and report issues or delays. This is done via IPAD, where jobs are allocated as well.
8. Provide quality customer service and ensure minimal disruption to residents during work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced kitchen fitter who holds a current driving licence as a van is provided.
You will also need:
9. NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in carpentry, joinery, or a related field.
10. Experience of working on Disability Adaptations is desirable.
