EC Drummond Group are a family run, diverse and growing agri-business based near Ross on Wye, Herefordshire who are seeking to fill a new position for an experienced and proactive Human Resources Advisor to join our Human Resources team.
This new role is pivotal in supporting both managers and employees across Poultry, Arable, Soft Fruit and Top Fruit, through a wide range of HR functions, providing the right candidate with a hands on role, with plenty of variety, visibility and autonomy.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a detailorientated HR Advisor who benefits from a busy environment, engages in Employee Relations, as well as the generalist side of HR and also enjoys a challenge.
The HR Advisor, working alongside the HR Manager, will act as a key point of contact for employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and policy implementation.The right candidate will have a proactive, practical, and professional approach to HR challenges.
This role requires a flexible approach to working and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.The business has ambitious plans and has lots of exciting opportunities as it continues to develop and you will learn huge amounts and also take responsibility. In the absence of the HR Manager, you will be the most senior HR person on site.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to line managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
Manage employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
Support the end-to-end recruitment process including drafting job descriptions, shortlisting, assisting with interviews, offer letters and promoting a positive onboarding process.
Undertake exit interviews and off boarding processes.
Advise on and ensure compliance with UK employment law and internal HR policies.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS systems in accordance with GDPR.
Support the delivery of learning and development activities.
Contribute to HR projects and initiatives such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing programmes.
Provide cover to the Payroll Administrator (during holidays or absence) utilising SAGE Payroll.
Engage in different compliance audits across the business.
Requirement to work later during the peak seasonal demand (as required).
Identify opportunities for change and improvement
Supporting the Seasonal Workers Accommodation Manager.
Help improve HR communication, utilising various software and media.
Assist in the companys social media operation.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Proven experience in an HR advisory role within the UK.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
Understand HRIS systems.
Confident in advising and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
CIPD Level 3 qualification (or above).
Competent with SAGE Payroll
Desirable:
Coaching or mediation experience.
Understanding social media in business
T&Cs
Hours of work are 37.5 per week with some flexibility on start/end time.
Monday to Friday, office based but will need on occasions to travel around company sites across the UK with overnight stays to fulfil the role.
Holidays are 23 days per year + 8 bank holidays (pro-rata based on hours).
