Monarch Education is recruiting on behalf of a school in Central Bristol for a Y5 Primary Teacher. This is a full-time, fixed-term role commencing in September 2025.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing the Year 3 curriculum for a primary class. The core focus of this role is to provide high-quality teaching that promotes student progression and fosters a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Delivery:
Develop and deliver engaging, effective lesson plans aligned with the UK National Curriculum for Year 3.
Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to create a stimulating classroom environment.
Ensure comprehensive coverage of all Year 6 curriculum objectives.
Assessment and Monitoring:
Use a range of formative and summative assessment methods to monitor pupil progress and attainment.
Analyse assessment data to identify gaps in learning and plan targeted interventions.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress and performance.
Provide constructive, timely feedback to support pupils' learning journeys.
Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and well-organised classroom environment conducive to learning.
Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and active participation among pupils.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants, other Year group teachers, and wider school staff.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and well-being.
Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities.
Contribution to School Life:
Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities or school events.
Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
Engage in ongoing professional development to continually enhance teaching practice.Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:
Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is a mandatory requirement.
Experience:
Proven experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to plan, teach, and assess the Year 3 curriculum effectively.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Year 3.
Knowledge of effective assessment strategies in a primary context.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
