We are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef Apprentice to join our kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a fast-paced, professional kitchen while working towards a recognised Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship qualification.
As a Commis Chef Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced chefs to prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard. You will gain hands-on experience in various kitchen sections and learn the fundamental skills required to kick-start your culinary career.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and cooking of food across all kitchen sections
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
• Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients
• Assist with stock checks and deliveries
• Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations
• Attend off-site or online training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
• Work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive kitchen environment

Qualifications Required
Desirable: Grade C/4 or above for Maths & English, or willingness to work towards.
Future prospects: Apprenticeship to lead to a full-time permanent position within the company if successfully completed.
Delivery to be completed on site and off the job training either at Barnsley College or your place of work. Student to complete Commis Chef Level 2 apprenticeship.
