Quantum Scholars are working very closely with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wokingham to recruit an experienced Chemistry Tutor to provide 1:1, in-person tuition for a secondary-aged pupil.
This position involves supporting a student who is currently outside of mainstream education, often due to additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural challenges, or medical conditions.
About the role
* Deliver 1:1 Chemistry tuition to a secondary-aged pupil
* Support a student in alternative provision or receiving EOTAS
* Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to the pupil's individual learning needs
* Sessions typically take place in the pupil's home or an appropriate community setting
* Approximately 1 hour per week, starting after Easter and continuing until the end of the academic year
* Flexible, part-time hours during the school day

Requirements
* QTS is preferred but not essential
* Experience working with pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, or SEMH
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Full Right to Work in the UK
* Ability to travel within Wokingham
